Sell in quantity increments (Old version)

Sell in quantity increments (Old version)

Selling in larger quantity step values rather than in increments of 1 is required in many cases. For example, you want to sell soaps in 6 packs but manage inventory by the single bar. In this case, you want to set 6 as incremental quantity so your customers can only choose 6, 12, 18, etc., at the time of purchase.

Setting up order in quantity increments is easy with the help of BigCommerce's custom fields. The steps are simple. First, add a custom field for all products that you want to sell in quantity increments, the custom field's value will be the multiplier. Second, turn on the corresponding setting in your B2B admin portal and link it to the custom field. And thing works!

Step 1: Add a custom field for order by multiplers

BigCommerce allows you to import custom fields to all products via CSV import or through the API. If you want to add custom fields manually, do the following to add a custom field to a product:

Step 1: Log in to BigCommerce Control Panel.
Step 2: In the left menu, select Products > View and choose a product.
Step 3: Scroll down to the Custom Fields section and click + Add Custom Fields.
Step 4:Enter the name and value for the custom field. While the name will be used to determine if the product needs to be ordered in multiples, the value will be used as the multiplier.
Step 5: Click Save to finish.

Step 2: Turn on order by multipliers

In your B2B admin portal, do the following:

Step 1: In the left menu, select General Settings > Storefront Settings.
Step 2: Select the store you want to configure.
Step 3: Under Sales Settings, turn on the switch for the setting Order by multiplier.
Step 4: Enter the name of the custom field that you want to use as multiplier.
Step 5: Click Save to finish.
