BigCommerce tax settings [React Native]

BigCommerce tax settings [React Native]

Settings available in JMango360 Back Office > Settings > Tax Settings.

App's tax settings control how taxes are calculated and shown on your app. JMango360 allows you to display tax in several pages within your app, including product listproduct detailssearch resultslook book, and wishlist.

Currently, app's tax settings are applicable only if you enter prices excluding tax for your products in BigCommerce Control Panel and use manual tax. Please make sure you set up the same tax zones and tax rates in both JMango360 Back Office and BigCommerce Control Panel.

Set up tax zones

Tax zones allow you to charge different rates for different geographic locations. Please add the same tax zones as in BigCommerce Control Panel.

Step 1: In JMango360 Back Office > Settings > Tax Settings > Zone Settings, click Add a Tax Zone.

Step 2: Add the same tax zone as in BigCommerce Control Panel > Store Setup > Tax > Tax Rates & Zones

Step 3: Click Done to close the dialog, then click Save Changes.

  1. Currently, we only support country-based and state-based tax zones that apply to all customers. For state-based tax zones, mobile app version 3.8.0 or later is required.
  2. An enabled tax zone can be set as the default one that will be used to calculate the tax in app.
  3. You can easily enable, set as default, edit, and delete tax zones using the buttons in the tax zone list.

Set up tax rates

After creating a tax zone, you can add rates to it. Tax rates are the percentages at which products or services are taxed. You may charge multiple tax rates within a zone. Please add the same tax rates as in BigCommerce Control Panel.

Step 1: In JMango360 Back Office > Settings > Tax Settings > Tax Rates, click Add a Tax Rate.

Step 2: Add the same tax rate as in BigCommerce Control Panel > Store Setup > Tax > Tax Rates & Zones.

Step 3: Click Done to close the dialog, then click Save Changes.

  1. If a tax zone has no enabled tax rate, all the countries in that tax zone will be treated as tax-free.
  2. You can easily enable, edit, and delete tax rates using the buttons in the tax rate list.

Specify which address should be used to calculate tax

React Native version: 3.5.1

Please specify which address to use when applying a tax zone to an order. You can charge tax based on the shipping address or billing address of the customer, or your own store address (your store’s shipping origin address).

If you choose to charge tax based on your store address and that address is included in a tax zone with a tax rate, then tax will be charged on all orders.

In JMango360 Back Office > Settings > Tax Settings > Tax ConfigurationSelect tax calculation zone, select Shipping address, Billing address, or Store address

If you choose to charge tax based on store address, please specify your store's shipping origin address under Select store shipping origin zone.

Charging tax based on shipping address and billing address applies to Klarna checkout only.

Add a suffix to prices to indicate tax inclusion

It's good to let your customers know whether your product prices include or exclude tax. You can add a price suffix after the product price in product listproduct detailssearch resultslook book, and wishlist to show additional information related to the price or the product itself.

In Tax Settings > Tax Configuration, select the check box under Show text to indicate product price with/without tax and enter a maximum of 10 characters in the text box that appears. You are also allowed to choose the text color and style as you'd like.

Show tax line in shopping cart

  1. React Native version: 3.6.2
  2. Default value: Disabled

One of the essential steps you take while setting up your shopping app is working out taxes. Apart from determining whether to display prices with or without tax and showing a suffix to prices to indicate tax inclusion, you are able to show or hide tax line on the shopping cart screen. If being enabled, tax amount will be displayed above the order total.
