Magento: Why does mobile app not show certain products in categories?

Magento: Why does mobile app not show certain products in categories?

Issue

Certain products that are enabled in Magento Admin cannot be found in the mobile app.

Cause

This issue may be caused by:
  1. App's unsupported product types: 'Downloadable' and 'Virtual' products are not supported on app.
  2. Product visibility: 'Not Visible Individually' and 'Search' products will not appear in product categories on app.
  3. No-category-assigned products: Products that are not assigned to any category will not show up in product categories on app.
  4. Out-of-stock products: Out-of-stock products can be set to be hidden on Magento website, therefore they will also be hidden on app.

Solution

  1. App's unsupported product typesFor now, JMango360 app doesn't support downloadable and virtual products, which means that these two product types will not be imported to mobile app and you can find them nowhere in the app.
  2. Product visibility: Make sure that the visibility of your products is 'Catalog, Search' or 'Catalog'. Otherwise, products will not show in product categories on app. To change the product visibility, go to Magento Admin > Catalog > Products and find the Visibility attribute in a certain product page. Don't forget to re-integrate app to be 100% certain that all the changes in website backend apply to the mobile app.

  1. No-category-assigned products: Make sure your products are assigned to categories that are imported to the mobile app during integration. For details on app integration, please refer to Magento integration settings. Don't forget to re-integrate app to be 100% certain that all the changes in website backend apply to the mobile app.

  1. Out-of-stock productsOut-of-stock products can be hidden using the setting in  Magento Admin > Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Inventory > Stock Options. If you want to display out-of-stock products on app, make sure those products are also shown on website by disabling the setting in the screenshot below. Don't forget to re-integrate app to be 100% certain that all the changes in website backend apply to the mobile app.
