How to create an Apple Developer Account?

How to create an Apple Developer Account?

  1. You need an Apple Developer Account to publish your app to the Apple App Store.
  2. It’s important that you enroll as Company / Organization (Step 4). This allows for multiple user logins to be created and managed with varying permissions capabilities for each login. Apps published to an organization account will display the organization's legal entity name.
  3. A D-U-N-S Number (available for free) registered to your legal entity is required during the enrollment process.
  4. The Apple Developer Program membership is $99 per year.

Step 1: Do you have an Apple ID?

To get started, you need an Apple ID to sign in to Apple Developer. If you do not have one yet, just create an Apple ID. Remember that your Apple ID is the account to which your apps are linked.

Step 2: Do you have a D-U-N-S Number?

A D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit number that identifies business entities on a location-specific basis. While the D-U-N-S Number is required when you enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an organization, it is inessential when you enroll as an individual.

If you enroll as an organization, your D-U-N-S Number will be used to check the identity and legal entity status of your organization as part of the enrollment verification process. Please use the D-U-N-S Number look up tool to see if you have a D-U-N-S Number. If your company is not listed, you’ll have the option to submit your information to Dun & Bradstreet for a free D-U-N-S Number.

After the request is submitted, please allow up to 5 business days to receive your number from D&B via the email address you provided.

Step 3: Register as a developer

Sign in to Apple Developer using your Apple ID. You are presented with the Apple Developer Agreement. Please read and agree to the agreement, then click Submit.

Step 4: Enroll in the Apple Developer Program

To start the enrollment, click Join the Apple Developer Program

Just follow the wizard Apple provides. When you are prompted to select the entity type, choose Company / Organization

At the end of this phase, you will be asked to read through the Apple Developer Program License Agreement. Select the check box for confirmation and continue.

Step 5: Purchase the membership

The last step is to purchase the membership. You will be asked to provide your payment and billing information.

Step 6: Activate your membership

Apple will send you a confirmation email within 24 hours. After receiving the confirmation email, click on the activation code to finish off your Apple Developer Account.
